Apex Park Details:-
Information:-A dog bin with bag dispenser is located at the top corner of the off lead exercise area near park entrance. This is a well maintained gently sloping grassed reserve of approximately one hectare. A picnic table and adjacent playground and skate park make this an excellent family walking area. Continue on down past the Scout hall and walk along the bitumen road down towards the beach. There is also a dog bin at this entrance to the park, viaTaroona Crescent. Walk along the road and past the car parking area to Bachelors Grave, a five-minute stroll towards the northern end of the beach. Toilets and a barbeque area are located on the beachfront. The grave is clearly marked and has an interpretation sign. The view from here is quite spectacular with expansive views of Alum Cliffs and the Shot Tower. The coastal track follows the rocky coastline. This well used path is narrow and is slippery when wet. This part of the track ends at the water treatment works, and one can walk back to the off lead exercise area on the road. The coastal track continues on in front of houses and ends just before the Taroona High School. One can either return by the same route or turn up into Melinga Place and then into Flinders Esplanade, past the soccer grounds and back to the off lead area via Chitin Road.
